How it works

At the initial consultation (45 min) I take a full medical history and we may decide on appropriate tests if necessary;

The first review takes place 2-4 weeks after the initial consultation -or as soon as we have the results of any tests; we can then set up a treatment plan that may include medications, a food plan and a self care plan

At 3-6 months we have a 30 min follow up to discuss the impact of treatment and make any adjustments to medications if necessary; subsequent follow up appointments take place 6-12 monthly afterwards.

Please note that all serviced are delivered online; health insurance is currently not accepted for menopause care services

Costs of initial consultation 45 min £295; this does not include any additional lab-related costs

HORMONE TESTING OPTIONS

Dried Urine testing for Comprehensive Hormones (DUTCH) - includes all sex hormones and their metabolites, cortisol/adrenal stress profile, and some neurotransmitter markers; this is a home testing kit - fee payable to Nordic labs directly £265 +pp results take 4-6 weeks

Blood testing for Sex Hormone Profile at day 21 cycle

I am currently using Inuvi labs for a home based blood draw via a nurse and below are the options available via this clinic; kindly let me know if you wish to have a test

1.        Sex hormone profiling includes

a.         FSH (follicle stimulating hormone)- this increases in peri/ post menopause

b.        Estradiol

c.        Progesterone

d.        Total testosterone

e.        Sex hormone binding globulin

f.           Free testosterone

g.         DHEA sulphate

h.        Vit D

The cost of a nurse visit at home and blood draw for above profile is £195 inclusive of lab and home nurse visit costs; it can also be done as a blood draw via Inuvi labs at 18 Wimpole Street- no need to book an appointment/ walk in basis

If you are taking hormones, this test is best done 4-6 hours after taking the morning hormones estrogen and testosterone.

2.        Sex Hormone profile and a full health check- this is useful if symptoms of fatigue, weight gain or hair loss are also main concerns, as it includes tests for thyroid function TSH free T3 free T4 and thyroid autoantibodies, full blood count, iron markers and ferritin, liver and kidney function tests, lipid/ cholesterol profiling and tests for pre/ diabetes, vitamin D levels B12 and folate levels also

a.        This test can be done via a nurse visit at home or at Inuvi labs at 18 Wimpole Street; the cost for this is £265 inclusive of lab and home nurse visit costs

b.        If you are taking hormones, this test is best done 4-6 hours after taking the morning hormones estrogen and testosterone and ideally before eating anything; black tea/ coffee/ herbal teas are fine

Testing costs are in addition to consultation costs

Please note I do not work with saliva hormone testing or other tests (such as Mira device etc). I only work with blood tests as above and dried urine hormone tests as validated by Precision Analytical labs (DUTCH test where appropriate)
